Co-funded by the European Union
Beneficiary of the ERDF and the ESF in the 2021–2027 funding period
We are a company based in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern that carries out projects funded by the EU and co-financed by the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Project description
The project “Inselmühle Usedom GmbH – expansion and modernisation of agriculture, production, trade and visitor experience” is funded under the ERDF programme 2021–2027 of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union. The investment in expanding our manufactory and modernising our farm facilities is a clear commitment to the region and to sustainable regional development. The funding allows us to increase our production capacity for regional specialities and, at the same time, to make the visitor experience on site even more appealing. In this way we strengthen local agriculture and the island of Usedom’s appeal to visitors all year round.
Aims and results
The project aims to achieve the following:
• Better infrastructure: modernising the production facilities for the gentle processing of regional raw materials, and expanding storage capacity for home-grown fruit, nuts and oilseeds.
• Creating and securing jobs: expanding production and the range on offer creates new year-round jobs in farming, processing and manufactory sales, and secures existing ones.
• Strengthening regional value creation: a higher share of home-grown and regionally sourced raw materials, which shortens transport routes and strengthens cooperation with local farming partners.
• More for visitors: new experiences such as extended tours and tastings, making Usedom more attractive as a destination for sustainable and culinary tourism.
• Contributing to sustainability: more energy-efficient technology in production and support for organic farming to protect natural resources.
